The Truth About Bridal Wellness (That No One Talks About)
What We Think Wedding Prep Looks Like
When we picture wedding prep, we think of dress fittings, cake tastings, seating charts, and color palettes—not gut health, sleep, or how we actually feel in our own bodies.
But here’s the truth: that inner glow everyone talks about? It doesn’t come from a facial or a fancy wellness shot. It comes from what’s happening on the inside—your stress, your metabolism, your blood sugar, your sleep, your digestion. And most brides (and couples) don’t realize just how much those things are affecting their mood, energy, skin, and confidence… until they’re already deep in the planning.
What I Wish I Knew
My wedding happened fast. Like many brides, I didn’t have the luxury of a long engagement—or the time to think about what I needed during it all. My wellness wasn’t even on my radar.
It wasn’t until after the wedding that it hit me: I had planned every detail except how I wanted to feel in my own body.
That realization stuck with me. It’s what inspired me to become a health coach and create something I wish I’d had—a way to care for yourself before the aisle, not just after the photos are printed.
The Problem No One Talks About
Brides are often handed fitness challenges or “wedding shred” plans that lead to burnout, restriction, and short-term fixes. And sure—some of them work… for a moment. But more often than not, the weight comes crashing back after the honeymoon. These extreme methods often lead to rebound weight gain, frustration, and yo-yo dieting.
I know because I lived it—for years. And so have many of my clients.
That’s why I created Bridal Wellness Glow—to help brides and couples break free from the all-or-nothing cycle and build habits they can actually maintain.
Real Life, Real Change
One couple I worked with recently came to me with the same feeling: they didn’t want to crash diet or push through wedding prep in survival mode. They wanted to do something together—something that felt supportive, real, and sustainable.
Over the course of 12 weeks, he lost 28 pounds and 19 inches, and she lost 8 pounds and 10.5 inches. But beyond the numbers, they found structure, energy, and connection. They learned how to fuel their bodies consistently, stopped skipping meals, and built a rhythm that brought them closer as a couple.
Their glow didn’t come from pressure or perfection. It came from feeling aligned—with their choices, their routines, and each other.
3 Ways to Support Your Wellness While Wedding Planning
💧 1. Prioritize hydration daily
It’s easy to forget water when you're running on adrenaline and checklists. But staying hydrated supports digestion, energy, metabolism, and that natural glow. Aim for half your body weight in ounces per day, and add electrolytes if you're sweating or feeling depleted.
🥗 2. Eat every 3–4 hours to balance blood sugar
Skipping meals to “save calories” usually backfires—leading to cravings, mood swings, and a slower metabolism. Build balanced meals with protein, fiber, and healthy fats to stay energized and focused all day.
🧘♀️ 3. Build in simple stress resets
Wellness isn't just about workouts and food—it’s also about your nervous system. Five minutes of breathwork, a walk around the block, or even stepping outside for sunlight can help you reset and show up with more presence and calm.
Let’s Redefine the Glow
This work isn’t about crash dieting or bouncing back. It’s not about chasing a number or shrinking yourself for a single day. It’s about feeling strong, grounded, and present—for your big day, and everything that comes after.
If you’re somewhere in the wedding planning process and this resonates with you, know that you’re not alone. There’s a different way—one that honors you, not just the timeline.
